Absolute workhorse of a drill! Very solidly constructed, 3 speeds settings, and a carbide teeth in the chuck means it has great holding power. Also FFX were there best for price compared to other retailers. Couldn't beat it, 5/5 stars.

Powerful with 3 speed settings. Certainly noticed a difference when using hammer to drill masonry. Much better than old drill. Heavier than old drill but expected for additional power. Takes a bit of getting used to electronic clutch as it just stops when torque exceeded.

Nice and smooth transmission. Great having three speed settings. Could be better if it had more and harder settings for the screwdriver, but these seem to be ubiquitous across these Dewalt combo drills.

Excellent service and price from FFX! I needed this prompt and it was delivered prompt. Same price as Amzn and Amzn let me down. FFX didnt so thankyou. Drill is excellent quality and recommended for trades. Metal chuck & gearbox puts up with usual trade abuse but use a 5Ah battery. Cheaper models with plastic chuck are ok for light to medium use but ive gone through 2 in 3 years; for the extra money just buy this model.

Excellent bit of kit

So far it does the job I need it to! It's powerful, the trigger is great for speed control and the chuck is well designed for grip too. My old brushless combine had a dodgy trigger within the first 6 months and then it got stuck on hammer action hence the upgrade to this big one. Fits in the mould for the toughsystem ds150 too which is very important.

Very powerful, good battery life. One thing l don't like about it is the direction switch feels a bit flimsy. When you move it, you don't get a solid positive feedback from it and it just feels a bit cheap on a drill that's otherwise well put together.

I am blown away. This drill is a game changer. I had a cheapo Dewalt drill (one of the old £89 jobs, a DCD776 I think) and it was OK, but sometimes just struggled with hard bricks and 25mm flat bits through joists. To be honest it was a bit embarrassing on site at times. So I went for this when it's bare price was £104... I mean you can't fault FFX on price. Of course it turned up the next day. Sweet. Drilling 10mm holes in brick for battens... it's effortless. Joists, 2 at a time? Didn't even break sweat. It's obviously a bit heavier than the old drill, but then it takes 1/3rd the time to drill holes, what's to complain? I am amazed. And very happy. One small fly in the ointment - I'll have to get some 5Ah batteries, it eats 2Ah batteries at a rate.

I have been using Dewalt tools for a long time and they are always great quality. Whilst they are not the cheapest, you get what you pay for. But because they are such good quality then they do represent value for money. My last Dewalt cordless drill lasted 6 years and I abused it. So it was a no brainer to get another one.

What a great product at an amazing price. Almost half the price of most of their competitors!! With so many DeWalt drills on the market it is very tempting to buy the cheapest with a small battery power. My thoughts exactly a year ago. Not now...buy a little more expensive and the difference is totally unbelievable. Buy better quality, so you buy once!!

Great drill, be prepared for it being noisier than a dcd 796 which I also have. Loads of power tho and has dealt with concrete lintels no problem.

If Noah used this drill to build his Ark he could have finished it in weeks! I've been using this drill during a camper conversion I'm currently undertaking. Thank goodness I bought it before i started. I am yet to find something it is not good at. It can drill through practically anything a normal DIY'er would need to while still being nice and easy to control with variable speeds and torque settings. A very versatile unit.

Can’t fault Dewalt, hope its as good as it’s predecessor. This is a replacement for my 16 year old 18V XRP drill that has been used professionally all its life, I’ve been using it recently with the DCA 1820 battery adapter but unfortunately when the drill burned out It also damaged the battery adapter. Can’t complain it owes me absolutely nothing after 16 years of hard graft.

The drill is excellent. Plenty of power and control. It's light. Its work-lights are helpful. The hammer function is also powerful. However this is my second unit in under 2 years of non-trade use. The chuck bust, and despite careful disassembly/reassembly necessary to properly remove the chuck from behind, I was left with a drill stuck in hammer mode. Either way - the chuck should have lasted longer.
